The Israeli-Myanmar Business Forum Held in Tel Aviv

The Israeli-Myanmar Business Forum was held at the building of the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce (FICC), situated at 84, Hahasmonaim Street, Tel Aviv, on 7 May 2017 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. H.E. Mr. Maung Maung Lynn, Myanmar Ambassador to the State of Israel attended the Forum and delivered Opening Remarks. In his Opening Remarks, the Myanmar Ambassador emphasized on the long standing Myanmar-Israel bilateral relations highlighting the visits of the then Myanmar Prime Minister H.E. U Nu and his Israeli counterpart H.E. Mr. David Ben Gurion. The Ambassador introduced the 12-member Myanmar Delegation led by Mr. Aung Naing Oo, Secretary of Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) and Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) to the FICC officials and Israeli entrepreneurs who attended the Forum.

After delivering of the Opening Remarks by Vice President of FICC, Myanmar Ambassador and some officials, Mr. Aung Naing Oo, Secretary of MIC and Director General of the DICA explained about Myanmar Investment Law and related regulations and investment opportunities. It was followed by Roundtable Discussions and presentations from Myanmar Delegation and Israeli entrepreneurs.

The Forum was attended by, among others, Mr. Arie Zeif, Vice President of the FICC, Mr. Eddie Shapira, Director, Economic Department 3 of Economic Affairs Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Alex Averbuch, Marketing Manager, ASHR’A. There were about 40 Israeli Business Executives from such important sectors as agriculture, IOT, livestock and breeding, medical device production, healthcare, water systems.

Both the Myanmar Delegation and Israeli entrepreneurs were able to get direct contact for networking among them so as to foster future cooperation. Thanks to the organizers of this Business Forum as it will pave a way to enhance the trade relations of Myanmar and Israel.
