H.E. Mr. & Mrs. Maung Maung Lynn attend Reception for Rosh Hashannah and meeting by President H.E. Mr. Reuven & First Lady Mme. Nechama Rivlin

Myanmar Ambassador H.E. Mr. Maung Maung Lynn and Spouse Mrs. Khin Lay Mu attended the Reception to honour the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashannah) hosted by President of the State of Israel H.E. Mr. Reuven & First Lady Mme. Nechama Rivlin at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem on 22 September 2016. It is learnt that the Reception was attended by 90 Ambassadors and diplomats serving in Israel.

President Reuven & First Lady Nechama Rivlin hosted a reception at Beit Hanasi, the Israeli President’s official residence, for foreign ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps serving in Israel, in honor of Rosh Hashannah. Attending were 90 ambassadors and diplomats representing countries from around the world, including Israel’s neighboring countries, Egypt and Jordan.

The diplomats gathered outside for a l’Chaim. President Rivlin put on a kippa before making a bracha on the apples and honey and wishing all a good year.

Among the countries represented in photo essay are Australia, Belgium, Egypt, European Union, Finland, Jordan, Nepal, Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru, and Sri Lanka. Most men were dressed in suits, some with lapel pins which included an Israeli flag, however, HE. Mr. Maung Maung Lynn of Myanmar wore traditional dress from his country.

Furthermore, wife of the Ambassador Mrs. Khin Lay Mu attended the meeting hosted by President H.E. Mr. Reuven Rivlin and the First Lady Mme. Nechama Rivlin. The President and the First Lady hosted spouses and partners of foreign diplomats serving in Israel on 13 September 2016 at the Israeli President’s official residence. The meeting was held jointly with the Diplomatic Spouses of Israel Association (DSI). Co-President of DSI, Mrs. Julie Fisher, wife of the US Ambassador to Israel.
