The Navy vessels and local fishing boats have been collectively conducting search and rescue operations in and around the area of the crash-site of the Tatmadaw transport plane Y-8. Some of the bodies of the persons who were onboard the ill-fated aircraft were found and retrieved. As of in the morning of 13 June 2017, the remains of the 86 people on the aircraft have been retrieved.
